City of Beggs Statement on Circulating Audio Recording and Sheriff’s Office Complaint

The City of Beggs is aware of an audio recording that has been publicly circulating and of a complaint reportedly submitted to the Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office concerning the Mayor and City code enforcement contracting. The circulating audio appears to be an excerpt of a longer conversation, and the City expects that any law enforcement review will consider the complete, original recording. The City takes the matter seriously and will cooperate fully with any law enforcement review, if one should occur.
