Retirement of Doris Tharp, City Clerk, Come in and Wish her Well

It is with much gratitude, appreciation and respect that we announce the retirement of our City Clerk of over 13 years, Doris Tharp effective Friday August 22nd, 2025. She has been an invaluble member of the team, managing all aspects of the city's administration and city affairs. She has been central to the smooth functioning of the city handling everything from records to elections to the cemetery and municipal affairs.
Interim Chief Clifton Ramsey Steps Down

The City of Beggs and the Police Department announce that Interim Police Chief Clifton Ramsey left the department on 8/13/25 to pursue another opportunity. We would like to show our appreciation for his willingness to come in and be part of the initiative to improve areas of our police department. SPECIAL MEETING- Annual Budget Approval- 8/25/25 6pm Beggs City Hall

There will be a public hearing to review and approve the budget for the city on 8/25/25 at Beggs City Hall at 6pm. The public is welcome to attend. The budget summary was published in the Okmulgee Times Friday 8/15/25.
